Ingredients
  

Biscuit Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed Make sure the butter is cold for flaky biscuits.
  • 3/4 cup milk

Filling

  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

Optional Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder Optional
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning Optional

For Brushing

  • Olive oil or melted butter For brushing the bombs before baking.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk until just combined.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into squares.

Assembly

  • Place a cube of mozzarella in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the dough over the cheese and pinch to seal.
  • Place the bombs seam side down on a baking sheet.
  • Brush with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the gooey center!

Notes

These biscuit bombs are best served warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to restore softness.
