White German Chocolate Cheesecake Cake

Ingredients
  

For the Cheesecake Layer

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

For the White Cake

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

For the Coconut-Pecan Topping

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions
 

Make the Cheesecake Layer

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream, then mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9" springform pan.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until set.
  • Cool completely, then chill for at least 2 hours.

Make the White Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the egg whites one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate mixing in the dry ingredients and the milk until combined.
  • Divide the batter between two 9" cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  • Let the cakes cool completely.

Make the Coconut-Pecan Topping

  • In a saucepan, mix evaporated milk, brown sugar, egg yolks, and butter.
  • Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens, about 10–12 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla, coconut, and pecans.
  • Let it cool to room temperature.

Assemble the Cake

  • Place one layer of the white cake on a plate.
  • Add the chilled cheesecake layer on top.
  • Place the second cake layer on top of that.
  • Generously spoon and spread the coconut-pecan topping over the entire cake.
  • Drizzle with caramel for an extra treat, if desired.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Do not skip the chilling time for the cheesecake layer for the best results.
