Ingredients
  

For the garlic butter custard

  • 8-10 cloves garlic cloves Roasted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted (113g)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk (60g)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

For the bread

  • 12 pieces King's Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls or a similar-sized French baguette
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to taste Chopped parsley and chili flakes for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Wrap the garlic cloves in foil, drizzling with a splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Roast in the oven for about 30-35 minutes until soft and golden.
  • In a bowl, combine the roasted garlic (squeeze it out of its skin), melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and fresh parsley. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Assembly and Baking

  • Place the King's Hawaiian rolls in a baking dish, leaving them in their full sheet form. Pour the garlic butter custard evenly over the rolls.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serving

  • Once out of the oven, sprinkle with additional chopped parsley and chili flakes for a little kick. Slice into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For the best taste, use fresh garlic and high-quality butter. You can mix in other cheeses like cheddar or Parmesan for different flavor profiles. To store, let cool, then wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to three days.
