Ingredients
  

For the Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream Use full-fat for best results.
  • 1 cup whole milk Can substitute with dairy-free alternatives.
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for better flavor.

For the Strawberry Mixture

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled & chopped Use ripe strawberries for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Enhances the flavor of the strawberries.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, toss strawberries with lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes.
  • Mash or blend the strawberries until they are slightly chunky or smooth, depending on your preference.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, remaining sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Stir the strawberry mixture into the cream base until well combined.

Churning

  • Pour your mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually taking about 20-25 minutes.
  • For a firmer texture, transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours.

Serving

  • Scoop into a bowl or cone, and add fresh strawberries or drizzle with chocolate/caramel sauce. Create a sundae if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the freezer for best taste and use within two weeks.
