  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Use low-sodium soy sauce for a lighter flavor.
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 tsp allspice pimento
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and brown sugar. Whisk until the sugar dissolves.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and fresh lime juice, mixing well to incorporate all flavors.
  • Add allspice pimento and cinnamon, whisking until combined.
  • Use the marinade to marinate your favorite meats or vegetables, or store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

For a sweeter marinade, add more brown sugar or honey. To spice it up, consider adding red pepper flakes or sriracha. Fresh herbs can enhance the flavor too.
