Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 9 ounces oven-ready lasagna noodles (about 15 sheets)
  • 1 jar 48 ounces marinara sauce (about 6 cups or homemade)
  • 1.5 pounds low moisture mozzarella, shredded (about 5 cups)
  • 5 ounces sliced pepperoni (preferably small diameter)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and position the rack in the center.
  • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, add 3/4 cup of marinara sauce and spread it with a spoon as the base.
  • For the first layer, add 3 sheets of the lasagna noodles equidistant from each other.
  • Add another 3/4 cup of the marinara sauce and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella over the sauce, then top it with 1 ounce of pepperoni (about 50 small slices).
  • Repeat these steps for the next four layers until all ingredients are used.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes.
  • Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving, as this will help it hold its shape when cut.

Notes

Serve hot, cut into squares, and optionally top with fresh basil or parsley. A side salad or garlic bread pairs well. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
