Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Ensure everything is well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • If using chocolate chips, fold them into the cookie dough.

Shaping and Baking

  • Take spoonfuls of dough and roll them into small balls. Shape each ball into a pin-like form and gently press each one down to flatten slightly.
  • Before baking, decorate your cookies with sprinkles or edible decorations.
  • Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months with parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking. You can prepare the dough in advance and refrigerate for up to three days before baking.
