For the coating

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour For dredging
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder For flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder For flavor
  • 1 pinch Salt and Pepper To taste

For the egg mixture

  • 2 large Eggs Whisked together
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk For moisture

For the breadcrumb mixture

  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs For coating
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese For flavor

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the two large eggs and buttermilk.
  • In a third shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

Breading and Baking

  • One by one, dredge each cube steak in the seasoned flour mixture, gently shaking off any excess.
  • Dip the flour-coated steak into the egg and buttermilk mixture.
  • Press the steak into the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, coating both sides generously.
  • Carefully place the breaded cube steaks on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
  • Bake the steaks in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  • Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with classic sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, or a salad. Drizzle gravy for added richness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
