Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats Use old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup warm milk Dairy or non-dairy milk can be used
  • 2 pieces apples, grated or finely chopped Ripe apples recommended
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine Melted
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds Feel free to substitute with other nuts or seeds
  • as needed Vegetable oil for greasing To prevent sticking

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats and warm milk. Let this mixture sit for a few minutes to soften the oats.
  • Add the grated apples, melted butter or margarine, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts to the oat mixture. Mix everything together until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into your greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Cooling

  • Once baked, let it cool a little before cutting into bars.

Notes

These bars are best served warm but can also be enjoyed at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container; they last about 4-5 days in the fridge.
