  • 4 pieces sausages
  • 4 rashers bacon
  • 4 pieces eggs Prepare to your liking (fried, scrambled, or poached)
  • 1 can baked beans For extra flavor, add a touch of mustard and a splash of vinegar
  • 2 pieces tomatoes, halved
  • 200 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 500 g potatoes Parboil before cooking
  • 4 slices bread For toasting
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter For sautéing mushrooms
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • Optional: black pudding For a more traditional touch

Preparation

  • Start by parboiling the potatoes until they’re just tender. Drain them, and then gently smash them with a fork before roasting or pan-frying until they are crispy.
  • Place sausages in a pot of water and boil briefly to cook through. After boiling, brown them in a pan for an even, golden finish.
  • Cook the bacon until it’s crisp, either by frying it or grilling it to your preference.
  • In a pan, cook the sliced mushrooms in butter or oil with a pinch of salt until they turn golden brown.
  • Halve the tomatoes and place them cut-side down in the pan, cooking until they soften.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the baked beans.
  • Prepare the eggs according to your liking – whether you prefer them fried, scrambled, or poached.
  • While everything is cooking, toast the bread until it’s golden and crispy.
  • Once everything is cooked, serve the toast, crispy potatoes, sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, and the baked beans on a plate. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

Notes

Timing: Start with the potatoes as they take the longest to cook. You can prepare potatoes and sausages in advance. Customize with vegetarian options if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
