Crostini are small, toasted slices of bread, perfect for appetizers or snacks, topped with a variety of delicious ingredients.

Ingredients
  

For the Crostini Base

  • 30 slices 30 slices artisan type baguette or French stick, cut 0.5cm / 1/4-inch thick on the diagonal Use crusty bread for best results.
  • 3 tbsp 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 clove 1 garlic clove, cut in half

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 160°C / 320°F.
  • Brush both sides of the bread slices with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  • Place the bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and lightly rub the surface with the halved garlic.
  • Return the bread to the oven for another 5 minutes until crispy. Let them cool fully before adding toppings.

Notes

Crostini can be served warm or at room temperature. Store leftover crostini in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days without toppings.
