Base ingredients

  • 2.5 cups heavy cream Use high-quality cream for best results.
  • 1 cup whole milk Whole milk is recommended for creaminess.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract preferred.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Sea salt enhances flavor.

Caramel

  • 1 cup caramel sauce Use high-quality caramel for best flavor.

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  • Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Churning

  • Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker. Churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • During the last few minutes of churning, slowly drizzle in the caramel sauce to create a beautiful swirl.
  • Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks. Best enjoyed within the first week for the freshest taste.
