  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in a little hot water, then add it to the batter along with the salt.
  • Stir in the flour until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage.
