Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Consider using a mix of semi-sweet and milk chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and both sugars until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, and then add the vanilla extract.
  • Dissolve the baking soda in a small bowl of hot water and mix it into the batter along with the salt.
  • Gradually stir in the flour, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Use a spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned.
  • Once done, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
