Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ¾ cup fresh bread crumbs
  • ½ cup minced onion
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, minced onion, beaten eggs, salt, and black pepper until everything is combined well.
  • On a piece of wax paper, pat out the meat mixture into a rectangle measuring 35×45 cm (14×18 inches).
  • Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese evenly over the meat rectangle, but leave a 2 cm (3/4 inch) border around the edges.
  • Roll up the meat mixture jelly-roll style to seal in the cheese and form a loaf. Press in the ends of the loaf to keep everything inside.
  • Transfer the meatloaf to a baking dish that is 25×38 cm (10×15 inches).
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until its internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).

Serving

  • Let the Cheeseburger Meatloaf Cheddar Roll rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, salad, or roasted vegetables. Drizzle with ketchup or BBQ sauce for extra flavor.

Notes

For even more flavor, consider adding spices or diced pickles to the mixture. It's important not to overmix the meat mixture to keep it tender. Allowing it to rest after baking helps retain the juices.
