Ingredients
  

Rice Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain white rice (uncooked) Adjust water amount and cooking time for brown rice
  • 3.25 cups cold tap water
  • 2 tsp chicken powder or granulated bouillon Or 2 cubes dissolved in boiling water
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley Optional
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 50 g / 3 tbsp unsalted butter Use more if you like!

Preparation

  • Place all Rice ingredients in a large saucepan and stir.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Put the lid on and reduce to medium-low heat.
  • Cook for 13 minutes, do not lift the lid.
  • Tilt the pot to check if all water is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and let it stand for 10 minutes with the lid on.
  • Add butter and fluff the rice with a rubber spatula. Serve.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with grilled chicken, beef, vegetable stir-fry, sauces, stews, or curries.

Notes

Store cooled rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. For longer storage, freeze it well to avoid freezer burn. You can also add vegetables during cooking for a nutritious twist or experiment with different spices.
