Ingredients:

  • 300g (2 cups) flour
  • 1 egg
  • 45g (1/4 cup) sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 140 ml (3/5 cup) hot milk
  • 40 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
  • Whipped cream
  • Strawberries, chopped
  • Granulated sugar

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve dry yeast in hot milk and let it sit for a few minutes until frothy.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and egg to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Incorporate softened butter and knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions.
  7. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it, filling the center with chopped strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream.
  8. Seal the edges to form a ball, ensuring no filling is visible.
  9. Place the filled dough balls on a baking sheet and let them rest for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  11. Bake the Strawberry Bombs for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Sprinkle with granulated sugar while they’re still warm.
