Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds potatoes (about 3 large potatoes), peeled and quartered
  • 8 Tablespoons (1 stick) butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1-2 cups vegetables—diced carrots, corn, peas
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground round beef
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice

Directions:

  1. Boil and Mash: Boil the potatoes until tender. Mash them with butter until smooth and set aside.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In a pan, sauté chopped onions and diced vegetables until tender.
  3. Brown the Beef: Add ground beef to the pan, cook until browned, and drain excess fat.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Mix in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Top it with the mashed potatoes, spreading them evenly. Bake until the top is golden brown.
  6. Serve Warm: Allow the Shepherd’s Pie to cool slightly before serving it warm. Enjoy the comforting flavors!
