Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a tube pan or Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, orange juice, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, toss the apple slices with the ground cinnamon.
  6. Pour a layer of batter into the prepared pan, followed by a layer of cinnamon-coated apples. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of batter.
  7. Bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
