Ingredients:
- 16 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 medium yellow onions, sliced
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1 oz packet of au jus mix (with 3 cups of water for the sauce)
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 pound deli pastrami or roast beef, thinly sliced
- 9 slices mild provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, placing the bottoms in a baking dish.
- In a pan, sauté sliced onions in olive oil and butter until caramelized. Add sugar for sweetness.
- Spread mayo on the bottom half of the rolls, followed by a layer of pastrami or roast beef.
- Top with caramelized onions and provolone cheese slices.
- Place the top half of the rolls and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and tops are golden.
- Prepare au jus sauce according to package instructions.
- Slice into individual sliders and serve with au jus sauce for dipping.
