Prepare Time

  • Cooking Time: 45 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 500g Pasta (your favorite)
  • 1 TB Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Onion, chopped
  • 750g Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 can (410g) Tomato Soup
  • 1 can (410g) Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 t Paprika
  • 1/2 t Dried Parsley

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the lean ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the tomato soup, mushroom soup, and milk to the beef mixture. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried parsley. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Combine the sauce with the cooked pasta, then transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top starts to brown slightly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Cook Notes

For a smoother sauce, consider blending the tomato soup before adding it to the skillet. This will give your casserole a creamier texture.

Variations

Keto Version

Substitute the pasta for a low-carb alternative like zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash. Use a keto-friendly tomato and mushroom soup substitute, or make your own low-carb versions at home.

Low-Carb Version

Opt for a low-carb pasta alternative and focus on increasing the protein content by adding more ground beef or even ground turkey. You can also add more vegetables like spinach or bell peppers to the sauce for extra nutrients.
