This practical and easy-to-make recipe will delight young and old alike.

For many people,  confinement  means uncontrollable and frustrating sugar cravings that often cannot be satisfied given that restaurants, cafes and other bakeries have closed their doors. Sugar cravings are even more difficult to curb as many food products have become difficult to find due to the rush of some to the nearest supermarkets to stock up. We have thought of you during these difficult times and offer you a chocolate cake recipe that requires easy-to-find ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 370 grams of oat flour;
  • 380 ml of water (preferably mineral);
  • 80 ml olive oil (preferably extra virgin);
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring;
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder;
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder;
  • 3 tablespoons of honey.

Preparation

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 180°C after placing your baking tray in the middle;
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the water, olive oil, and vanilla flavoring, and set your mixture aside;
  3. In a large bowl, place the flour and baking powder using a strainer to remove lumps, and mix them using a whisk. Then add the honey and cocoa powder before mixing well;
  4. Gradually add the contents of the medium-sized bowl to the large bowl, and mix gently with a whisk until you obtain a uniform dough without lumps. You can, at this point, add a pinch of salt if you want to enhance the flavor of your cake.
  5. Coat a cake mold with a little coconut oil and pour your batter into it, making sure to even out the surface using a wooden spatula;
  6. Place the cake pan in your oven and bake for 40 minutes, then insert a toothpick into the middle of your cake. If the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is done. Otherwise, cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Remove your cake from the oven and let it cool completely before removing it from the pan;

Conservation

It is recommended to store this cake in your refrigerator and eat it within 5 days of preparation. To prevent it from drying out, wrap it in cling film or place it in a completely closed container.

This delicious cake will allow you to satisfy your  sweet cravings  and will delight young and old during this period of confinement!
