Ingredients:

  • 1lb lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2.5 tsp brown sugar
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of Texas Toast
  • 1oz shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion, then drain.
  2. Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook until the mixture thickens.
  4. Bake Texas toast until golden brown.
  5. Assemble by topping the toast with the beef mixture and cheese.

Cook Notes: Ensure the beef mixture is not too runny to prevent the toast from becoming soggy.
