Spaghetti Stuffed Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 16-ounce Italian bread loaf
  • Butter and garlic powder for bread
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 7 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, divided in half
  • 2/3 cup Mozzarella cheese, divided in half
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, generous
  • 1 teaspoon salt + a pinch
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the top of the bread loaf off and hollow it out, leaving a shell.
  3. Butter the inside of the bread and sprinkle with garlic powder. Bake until lightly toasted.
  4. In a skillet, brown ground beef and sausage. Add diced onions and cook until softened.
  5. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions and combine with meat sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Parmesan, Mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, minced garlic, and pepper.
  6. Stuff the hollowed-out bread with the spaghetti mixture.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake until golden and bubbly.
  8. Slice and serve hot.
