Ingredients:
- 16-ounce Italian bread loaf
- Butter and garlic powder for bread
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 7 ounces uncooked spaghetti
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, divided in half
- 2/3 cup Mozzarella cheese, divided in half
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, generous
- 1 teaspoon salt + a pinch
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the top of the bread loaf off and hollow it out, leaving a shell.
- Butter the inside of the bread and sprinkle with garlic powder. Bake until lightly toasted.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef and sausage. Add diced onions and cook until softened.
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions and combine with meat sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Parmesan, Mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, minced garlic, and pepper.
- Stuff the hollowed-out bread with the spaghetti mixture.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake until golden and bubbly.
- Slice and serve hot.
