Mexican Pasta Shells with Ground Beef

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Sazon Perfecta seasoning
  • 2 cups medium-size pasta shells
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated Knorr chicken bouillon
  • 4 tablespoons granulated Knorr tomato bouillon
  • 3 diced serrano chiles
  • Half of an onion
  • 1 can of Rotel
  • A handful of chopped cilantro
  • Garlic and onion powder, to taste
  • 2 packets of red Sazon
  • 1 bay leaf

Directions

  1. In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, garlic, onion, and serrano chiles. Cook until beef is browned.
  2. Stir in garlic and onion powder, black pepper, Sazon Perfecta, and both Knorr bouillons. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add Rotel, bay leaf, and water. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  5. Remove the bay leaf, garnish with cilantro, and serve.

Cook Notes

  • Adjust seasoning as needed, depending on your taste preference and the brands of bouillons used.
  • The pasta can be cooked in a separate pot to avoid over-absorption of the sauce, if preferred.
