Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 2 pounds chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup light or dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Heat sesame and canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and set aside. In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, and rice wine vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch and water, then add to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it well with the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

- The bourbon can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version; substitute with chicken broth or apple juice.
