Prepare Time

  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 12 minutes
  • Total Time: 22 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 box (8 shots) of croissant rolls
  • 1 ½ cup cherry pie filling
  • ½ cup of powdered sugar for dusting

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the croissant roll package (usually around 375°F or 190°C).
  2. Unroll the croissant dough and separate it into individual triangles along the perforated lines.
  3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling onto the wider end of each dough triangle.
  4. Carefully roll the dough around the filling, starting from the wide end and working towards the point, to form a crescent shape. Make sure to tuck in the sides to help contain the filling.
  5. Place the filled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each for expansion.
  6. Bake according to the package instructions, usually for about 12 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Let the crescents cool slightly on a wire rack before dusting with powdered sugar.

Cook Notes

Watch the crescents closely towards the end of the baking time to ensure they don’t overbrown, as oven temperatures can vary.

Variations

  • Chocolate Cherry Crescents: Add a few chocolate chips to the cherry filling before rolling up the crescents for a chocolatey twist.
  • Almond Cherry Crescents: Mix a little almond extract into the cherry pie filling for a flavor reminiscent of cherry almond pastries.

Keto Version

For a keto-friendly version, use low-carb almond flour dough instead of croissant rolls and a sugar-free cherry filling. Dust with a keto-friendly powdered sweetener.

Low-Carb Version

Similar to the keto version, opt for low-carb dough and sugar-free pie filling to keep the carb count down.
