CHEESY SCALLOPED POTATOES

What you need

2 pounds of potatoes (thinly chopped)
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 1/2 teaspoons minced
3 Tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8×8 or 7×10 pan. Then , place two-thirds of your potatoes down one side of the dish.
In a smaller saucepan on medium temperature. Add the garlic, and cook for about a minute. Mix in the flour, salt and pepper. Cook for another minute.
Reduce heat to medium-low. Slowly add the milk until it is smooth. Bring to a gentle simmer to allow it to the mixture to thicken. Stir into 3/4 cup of cheese until it is melted, then remove from the heat.
Pour half this sauce on top of the potato. Sprinkle approximately 1/2 cup of cheese on the top. The remaining potatoes should be laid over the them. Then , sprinkle the remaining sauce and cheese on top.
Bake covered for 50-60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top turns golden brown.
